UDL and the Neuroscience of Learning: Helping all Learners Succeed

Length of presentation is 45 mins (9:00 - 9:45am)

Sometimes supporting a diverse range of students needs can feel like wrangling a herd of wild horses, but what can wild horses actually teach us about our students? As it turns out, a lot. Horses have far more mirror neurons than humans, reflecting our actions and their impact on our relationships. Connect this to the brain chemicals and hormones, their influence on the brain and its ability to learn and we have a new lens to look at the role of UDL informed technology integration to support all learners.

Kris will explore how we learn, the impacts of biochemistry and relationships on our learning and connect this to concrete interventions we can include in our daily lessons to create engaged learners and positive learning outcomes.
