Falkirk High School - Our accessible journey

Join Tracy  from Falkirk High School as she presents an overview of their transformative journey with the 1:1 Connected Falkirk iPads initiative.  This workshop will explore the innovative steps taken to enhance accessibility provisions, ensuring all students can fully engage with their learning needs, showcasing how Falkirk High has utilised technology to create an inclusive educational environment.  Attendees will gain valuable insights into the practical applications of iPads in fostering accessibility, along with some examples of challenges overcome and success stories.

Get Accessible with Chromebooks

Join this pupil-led, hands-on session and learn from Midlothian pupils and staff about the tools they use on Chromebooks to make learning accessible. Ask questions about what works and what doesn’t and see the Chromebooks in action as young people demonstrate how technology can help support and enable  learning when they need it the most.

Accessible learning using inbuilt Windows tools to benefit all learners

Length of presentation is 40 mins (1:30 - 2:10pm)


In this workshop Sarah will share a variety of built in Microsoft digital tools that her learners use on a daily basis to ensure accessibility for all.  Through live demonstrations intertwined with examples from her daily practice Sarah will share how these tools can benefit all learners and therefore help remove the stigma around the use of accessible technology in the secondary classroom. 

Sarah will also share how she has used digital tools to support students who have assessment arrangements in place for both summative and formative assessment.
