1. Test your connection

Please ensure that your organisation will allow you to connect to the conference. We use a system called Collaborate (a bit like Zoom) and you will receive an email with a link for a timetable. This timetable has links to the presentations for you to click on.

To test in advance, click on one of the links and you should see a 'test card' with the date and time for the event. If you can see this then your connection works. Ignore the failure code, it appears because you're trying to login before the date.

If there is a problem, please contact your ICT person.

2. Check your headphones/speakers

  • Please check in advance that the headphones or speakers on your computer/laptop are working before you join the session.

  • If you find you can't hear anything on the day then refer to point 3 (below).

  • If this doesn't work then there is the option to listen through your phone within the presentation. This can be done by:

    1. Clicking on the 3 lines (top left of presentation screen)
    2. and selecting 'Use your phone for audio'.
  • We will not be able to provide support if you experience sound problems so please as your ICT person for help.

3. Ensure you're using Google Chrome on Windows or Safari on a Mac

On the day, if you still can't hear any audio but you've tested your headphones or speakers then it may be because you're using Firefox or Microsoft Edge. There are known problems with these browsers.

4. Screen magnification

If you have any problems seeing small text in the presentation then try using the magnifier tool. This can be done by clicking on the magnifying glass (top left of presentation screen). A set of icons will appear allowing you to zoom in, etc.

5. Try to log in on time

The presentations will start exactly at the specified time so if you don't wish to miss anything then please try to log in 15 minutes before the event to make sure everything works.

6. Questions and answers

Due to the number of participants, the chat panel within each presentation will be disabled so you wont be able to ask any questions. So, note the email of the presenter if they show this and email them afterwards if you have any questions. Or drop us an email at
